An Example of an Oxycontin Case
An example of a case like this would be a client who has suffered misuse of a drug on behalf of the pharmacy or hospital from which they were prescribed and also Online Pharmacies that allow everyday ‘joe public’ to buy generic Oxycontin online. In many example cases following a similar scenario it is more than likely that the client requests a case that shows how the drug company has shown no compassion towards consumer care, or that they did not take the proper precautions towards prescribing the drug to the client at hand. Now it might seem foolish to try and lead a lawsuit against a large drug company but if you think about it logically why should you be mistreated when a company can't get simple administrations correct, and why should you pay the price for somebody’s else’s inability to perform to the best of their ability at their job?
The answer is you shouldn’t. You shouldn’t have to put up with anything. Picture this scene. You have had some back pain for some time you go to see your local doctor. They tell you its nothing: and give you a prescription for a six month dose of powerful Oxycontin painkillers. Again thinking nothing is wrong you get the Oxycontin and begin taking it at the interval it suggests on the packet, being wary not to go over the dose in case it does any damage to you.
However after a while you begin feeling the symptoms and side effects of when Oxycontin is over abused. You put up with this at first as it is only very mild, however when you begin suffering more often you go back again to see your doctor. They insist you must have had an allergic reaction to the drugs you have been taking as pain killers.
Now, many people would question, if you had an allergic reaction to a particular chemical why wouldn’t it be present on your medical records. Some could question it was never tested for. However when administering a new drug to the public shouldn’t they test to see if it is perfect for human consumption? This is where a court case comes in hand and when lawsuits are drawn up. You see if a company fails to live up to its standards that are set by the FDA, or if it hasn’t been FDA approved, you as a consumer are entitled to the full compensation available within the law, because of the distress and anger they may have caused.
